Teal Tuesdays - Free Day

I can't believe I almost missed a Teal Tuesday. Yesterday I was busy cleaning up that I didn't have the time to paint them so I decided I was just going to do the challenge today when I got home from work. Well, I ended up going over to my brother and sister in laws house for dinner so I didn;t get home until 9:30. When I got home I wanted to shower before I went to sleep, so here I am rushing to get this post in before midnight. It's 11:45PM here in Seattle, so I have 15 minutes to finish this. For my base I used 1 coat of Cult Nails Let Me Fly and added a coat of Cult Nails Hypnotize Me. It turned out beautiful, I'm very happy I got these polishes during the Cult Nails $5 sale.

Just Spotted the Lizard

Happy Memorial Day! I had such a busy weekend, we celebrated my son's birthday party at Kidz Bounce which has these ginormous inflatable slides and bouncy rooms. It was such a blast to have both my family and my boyfriends family along with our closest friends there. Julius had such a great time playing and bouncing! So I didn't get a chance to work on the Sunday Stamping challenge due to just being plain lazy and also trying to clean up his old toys to make room for the new ones. So here is a quick swatch of OPI Just Spottes the Lizard.

Bonita Red

My goal is to eventually swatch each one of my nail polishes at least one time, it's hard with all of the challenges and groups I'm involved with, so here and there I throw in some swatches in my blog. At this point I just want to finish swatching the Bonita collection I had bought a long time ago from Ross and I was just going to swatch all at once and just write one post about all of them but it became time consuming and as a full time employee, full time mommy, full time girlfriend and full time friend I just didn't have the time to do all the swatches plus the challenges. Slowly I have been swatching here and there and here my friends is Bonita Red. (I still don't know the names of these colors). This is 1 coat of Bonita Red with a top coat of SV.

Challenge Day 12 - Stripes

I must be delusional becuase I ended up using another pink again, wow 2 days in a row! This mani looked comletely different in my head but I think the outcome was so much better than what I had planned in my head. It's a very subtle stripe mani but it reminds me of very elegant wrapping paper. Here's a fun and quick fact. OPI Hawaiian Orchid was my very first OPI I ever bought and it was originally supposed to be used for my trip to Hawaii last year (2011), but I ended up being boring and just did a Frech Tip Mani. Anyways as you already know my base used was OPI Hawaiian Orchid. The stripes are Konad Special Nail Polish Gold and Cheeky plate CH11. The bow is Konad Special Nail Polish White and Cheeky plate CH8.

Challenge Day 11 - Polka Dots

First of all I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my son Julius, I can't believe it has already been 3 years, where does time go? Ok time for the mani, I tend to stray away from any pink or red polishes because I just feel like they are just too much of girly colors for me, but this challenge day I was in a pink mood, very shocking! So I opened my Pink & Red drawer to my Helmer and I just could not choose which pinks or reds I should choose, for someone who hates dislikes pinks I have a lot of pinks to choose from. For my base I used China Glaze White on White. For the polka dots I used OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips, OPI Red Lights Ahead...Where?, and OPI Sparrow Me the Drama and used my handy dandy dotting tool. I just knew I wanted the polka dots to cover my whole nail so I chose to do diagnal lines with the polka dots and VOILA there you have it my Polka Dot Mani.

Challenge Day 10 - Gradient

Instead of doing just a normal gradient like I am supposed to, I decided since I had already done a gradient for Day 6 Violet, I would just show you a Ombre Mani instead. This was my first attempt at ever doing an Ombre mani and I really like the end results and the fact that it was super easy to do!
For this mani I used: Base Coat: Revlon Base Coat. Base Color: Sinful Colors Nirvana. As the base color got lighter I just added 1-2 drops of China Glaze White on White, and as the base color got darker I just added 1-2 drops of  Sinful Colors Blaack on Black. Top Coat: Seche Vite.

Here is a swatch of Sinful Colors Nirvana.

And here's a little extra an actual Gradient Mani:
For this mani I used Sally Hansen Lightening for the base color and for the sponging I used Sinful Colors Cloud 9 mixed with Warpaint Acid Orange and Sephora by OPI What Aura Gonna Wear? mixed with Icing Neon Pink. This is what I call my Sunset Mani...fitting right? I was going to add palm trees but I couldn't find my image plate with the palm tree and I tried to free hand but it just isn't my forte so I left it alone.

I'm super excited today because I officially go on my mini vacation starting tomorrow, so I just need to get through work today then I have a 4 day weekend to hang with the Birthday Boy. Ahhh still can't believe my baby is turning 3 years old not so much my baby anymore.

Teal Tuesdays - Stars

Ok, sorry I lied...I didn't come back with a gradient mani like I promised for last Friday and I actually ended up taking a couple of days off from doing my nails, but I've been working overtime and feeling just too tired to do my nails, but you're in luck I have a great lineup for the rest of the week. But for now it's Teal Tuesdays and we voted on stars. Here's what I used 1 coat of Sinful Colors Rise and Shine for my base, 1 coat of Zoya Ivanka over the Rise and Shine, and Sinful Colors Black on Black for my stamping polish. For my ring finger and thumb I used Cheeky Plate CH26, and for the other fingers I used Bundle Monster Plate BM05. I top coated each nail with Seche Vite, Enjoy the photos! BTW In realy life you could see the teal shinging through but in these pictures all you can see is the green in Ivanka.

Lav-Ish

I strayed off course again last night and wasn't able to create my gradient mani for the 31 Day Challenge, so for today I will show you a mani I did last week. I used 2 coats Ulta Lav-Ish for my base, Lav-Ish is a very subtle grayish purple with micro shimmer. For my accent nails I used Color Club Otherworldly  then I taped off my ring and thumb nails and used Ulta Lav-Ish. The accent nails were supposed to turn out as up arrows, but it's a bit hard to see.

I promise tomorrow I will get back on course with my 31 Day Challenge.
