2013 New Years Nails

So now that I am back, I wanted to continue being apart of the two facebook groups I was in before, which were Adventures In Stamping and Teal Tuesdays. So the challenge for this Sunday of course is New Years. I decided to use 2 coats of Color Club Cadillac Red for my base I chose red because one of my coworkers had told me red is supposed to be good luck. I've heard this before but it was for Chinese New Year, so I'm hoping it will still bring my good luck for our New Year. I then added a coat of China Glaze Golden Enchantment which is a beautiful golden glitter but when you look at it up close you can see the many colors it has in it. I added a top coat layer of Seche Vite then stamped using Konad Special Nail Polish White. For my thumb I used Cheeky plate CH9 a fun and festive champagne bottle with champagne flutes around it and for my ring finger I used Bundle Monster plate BM02 for the big lips and Cheeky plate CH27 for the small lips and kiss, they are supposed to represent the midnight kiss.  I wanted to show you the beautiful ring my boyfriend gave me for Christmas, no it's not an engagement ring (I'm still waiting for that) it's technically called a promise ring, but I'm the one who chose it and when I had told him it was a promise ring he said to me "oh so what are you promising youself", I swear some guys....but hey at least I got some sort of jewelry.

 

Coral Cascade

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We had a wonderful Father's Day yesterday. For the first half we hung out at my parents house, ate lunch, ran around outside with my dog, and even went to the park with my brother, sister in law and nephew Kristian. We then had a family BBQ for Allan's side of the family at our apartment and everyone had a good time singing and eating. For Father's Day Allan received money for his tattoo session he had on Saturday and I must say it is coming along great, he has maybe two or three more sessions to go until he has his tribal half sleeve finished. For this mani I was just playing around and wanted to do a glitter gradient. I used Color Club Coral Cascade and sponged on NYX Gold Glitter. Topped with SV.

Bonita Silver

And I'm back...sorry folks for the absence but I have been trying to nurse my broken nails these last few days and I am happy to report they are finally almost all the same length, yay! Unfortunately I wasn't able to do the Teal Tuesday challenge but I do have a treat for you today. Here is 2 coats of Bonita Silver and 3 coats of Color Club Gingerbread. Such a lovely glitter.

Adventures in Stamping - A Plate Ending in 9

I haven't had a chance to do a Stamping Sunday challenge in such a long time, I'm happy I was able to do a mani for this challenge beacuse it's Debbie (The Crumpet's) daughters birthday. So we were able to choose either a celebration mani, a plate ending in 9, or a birthday mani. I decided to choose a plate ending in 9. I used Cheeky Plate CH29 and used every image that was on that plate. I used Color Club Pardon My French for my base, stamped with Sally Hansen Sonic Bloom and Sally Hansen Red Chrome. For the tips I taped them off and used, Sally Hansen Sonic Bloom and KleanColor Chunky Holo Fuchsia.

Lav-Ish

I strayed off course again last night and wasn't able to create my gradient mani for the 31 Day Challenge, so for today I will show you a mani I did last week. I used 2 coats Ulta Lav-Ish for my base, Lav-Ish is a very subtle grayish purple with micro shimmer. For my accent nails I used Color Club Otherworldly  then I taped off my ring and thumb nails and used Ulta Lav-Ish. The accent nails were supposed to turn out as up arrows, but it's a bit hard to see.

I promise tomorrow I will get back on course with my 31 Day Challenge.

Challenge Day 9 - Rainbow

Back to the 31 Day challenge. Day 9 is Rainbow, I was just going to reshow you my mani I did a couple months back which was Rainbow tips but that would be cheating so I decided to recreate a mani I saw from someone else but I honestly can't remember who I saw it from. For each nail I just painted a horizontal line of each color, no taping because I knew already I was going to paint over with black. I used Color Club Cadillac Red, Sinful Colors Cloud 9, Sinful Colors Pull Over, Bonita Green, and Sinful Colors Endless Blue. I then taped each nail differently using striping tape and painted over with my favorite black Sinful Colors Black on Black and voila my Rainbow Mani!

Challenge Day 8 - Metallic

Getting straight to the mani I used 1 coat of Color Club Foil Me Once, taped off my nail and used 1 coat of China Glaze Adore. I then used my dotting tool and added the dots and of course SV for my top coat.

These last two pictures are with flash, so the color looks a little different.
